Meet Michelle

Greetings! I’m a queer, brown, ND, cis woman based in Leeds. I’m originally from London and have moved around the UK quite a bit. I currently live in Leeds with my wife, QPP, and black cat, Albus. After nearly 20 years of living in Leeds,

I still think of myself as a Southerner at times.

I’m very passionate about funerals and people planning for their death before it happens. A good death is very important, as is a good funeral.

I do also conduct weddings and vow renewals amongst other things.

After living with invisible disabilities for most of my life, I’m keenly aware of the difficulties facing people who live with intersectionality, and I want to enable us to have better choices in ways that we’re comfortable with. I’d say I’m an extroverted introvert who needs lots of recovery time from interactions! I’m mostly found reading, writing, watching films/TV or having a coffee whilst bothering a cat.

Testimonials

When my world fell apart, because of someone’s wrong decision, what could I do? My family was heartbroken too. Being their mum, I had to be strong for them. So I couldn’t turn to them. But then a beautiful lady stood by my side and helped me more than I could have believed. Michelle- she’s caring, loving, quiet spoken, loyal, truthful, helpful. I could go on forever. She rescued me from the dark place I was in.

- MAGS

I met Michelle in 1999 when she was fundraising for a charity. We bonded immediately, over our mutual love of Buffy. Although she moved away to a different part of the country, we always stayed in touch. She was very supportive after I lost my wife in 2011. Her messages also helped me during the 14 months I was isolated home alone during the covid pandemic.

After the pandemic we have been able to meet up on a number of occasions where she has been  supporting either my work or at LGBTQ+ events.
